Introducing Global Urgent Matters

Global Urgent Matters extends the Urgent Matters mission beyond the United States, spotlighting emergency medicine research and quality improvement from health systems worldwide. Developed in partnership with the Global Emergency Medicine team at George Washington University, these articles highlight clinicians and researchers advancing emergency and acute care in their communities.

Our writing team collaborates with international authors to translate original studies into concise, accessible articles for our global audience of emergency care stakeholders. Topics span pediatric emergency care, injury and envenomation, acute gastrointestinal conditions, pre-hospital and bystander response, and other challenges facing emergency departments worldwide. Through Global Urgent Matters, we aim to share tested strategies and locally driven innovations that can inform and strengthen emergency care across diverse settings.
